The Bocage virois is a “ country ” of the Normandy. Its inhabitants are Bocains.

Geography

The Scrap-metal virois is part of the Norman scrap-metal whose territory is limited to the department of the Calvados. Its limits north and east are on the other hand less clearly defined. In the beginning, this old part of the historical Bessin covered the part today calvadosienne Armorican Massif (overall the Arrondissement of Transfers), but one detaches often henceforth the septentrional and Eastern parts of them.

Thus form part clearly of this country the cantons of Bény-Scrap-metal, Saint-Sever-Apple-brandy, Vassy and Vire. These four cantons correspond geographically to the basin of Vire and with the part of the Synclinal bocain traversed by the Vire and the Souleuvre.

In north, the Canton of Aunay-on-Odon is now more commonly classified in the Pre-Scrap-metal, kind of threshold between the Armorican Solid mass and the Paris basin. In the east, the Canton of Condé-sur-Noireau, traversed by the Druance, is, at least to some extent, classable in the Suisse Norman.
