Scott Philips (born in 1961) is an American author of detective novels in the tradition hardboiled.

Biography

He was born with Wichita (Kansas) and lived several years in France, working as translator and photographer; then in California as scenario writer.

Its first novel, the Harvest of ice ( The Ice Harvest , 2000), gained California Book Award, was nominated for the Edgar Poe Award and Hammett Prize. It was adapted to the cinema in 2005. Scott Philips published in 2002 the Escaped prisoner ( The Walkaway ), a Prequel with the Harvest of ice . Its third novel left in 2003, Cottonwood , occurs in Kansas and California during the time from Far West.

Since 2006, Philips lives with Saint-Louis (Missouri) with his wife and her daughter.
