Scirpe of America
The Scirpe of America ( Schoenoplectus pungens ) is a plant of the marshes of North America. It is present in moist environments of fresh water the such edges of river and the marshes intertidal.
On banks of the River the St. Lawrence, the marshes with scirpe are not very frequent environments. Since its Rhizome is a source of important food for large the Snow goose during its bi-annual migration, of the marshes with scirpe protected areas were indicated, like the national Réserve of fauna of the course Tourmente.
The species is called Common Threesquare , Flesh-maker' S rush or Three-public garden bulrush in English.
