Scipion Dupleix , French historian, born with Condom in 1569, died in this same city in 1661

It came to Paris in 1605, following the queen Marguerite de Valois, who did it main requests of her hotel, was tutor of Antoine of Bourbon, wire legitimated of Henri IV, then was named by Louis XIII in 1619 Historiographe of France and to advise State. It is to fulfill its role of tutor that it wrote " Its Philosophie" including/understanding inter alia: " the natural curiosity written in questions according to the order alphabétique" , " Ethics or philosophy morale" , " Causes of the day before and the sleep, the dreams & the life & the mort".

  • Memories of Gaules since the flood until the establishment of French monarchy , 1619
  • Roman History , 1636
  • general History of France, published of 1621 to 1643 : it milked there strong evil Marguerite, woman of Henri IV, who had been his bienfaitrice, and gives great praises to Richelieu.

One still has him:

  • a treaty of the Causes of the day before and sleep, dreams, life and death, 1613.
  • a Course of philosophy , 1607 and 1642: it is the first work of this kind which one wrote in French; he composed it for the prince, his pupil.
