Synopsis

The series proceeds on a world based on the combination of a medieval lifestyle with a large advanced technology, in particular in the field of biotechnologies, which enable them to create artificial creatures with their service, the “lower races”.

It puts in scene prince Ethan of the Héron dynasty, and its fight against prince Bron of the dynasty Raven, two families rival with the opposite ideas which reign on two large kingdoms separated by an ocean.

Following the appearance of a mysterious mark (a Sigil) on its arm, right before the ritual combat which must oppose it to Bron, the life of Ethan is upset. With the support of Skink a servant created artificially, who is in fact an emanation of the power which affixed this mark, Ethan will have to face many tests and to choose between his honesty towards his family and his kingdom and the rescue of the lower races, treated like slaves at Ravens or servants at Hérons. And the love is also of the part.

To note

An event determining being between episodes 1 and 2 of Scion is put in scene by Ron Marz and Barbara Kesel (scenario) and Claudio Castellini (drawings) in Crossgen Chronicles #1.

Number 2 of CrossGen Chronicles (Ron Marz/George Perez) tells how a naval battle between two ancestors of Hérons and Ravens was at the origin of the truce between their two people and the ritual combat replacing their wars.
