The Egyptian geometry is in fact oldest of the geometries and in more it is correct. It gathers all whose our geometry is made; it is the mother of all the geometry to date known. The former Egyptians invented the geometry like the means of practicing it: compass, square, rules etc… The Egyptians were large geometricians, however no names of scientists did not persist, on the other hand the history retained the Greek names of the scientist which drew their knowledge from the geometry of the ground of the Pharaons.
Measuring units
Attention the measuring units vary according to the measured times and objects.
Lengths
-
Two systems, two standards :
-
submultiples: the finger ( djeba ), the palm ( chesep );
- multiple: the cord (100 bent royal), the iterou (approximately 4000 bent).
Surfaces
The aroure either 2 remen (S) or 4 heseb (S) and 8 its (S). The aroure has 100 bent of dimensioned.
Volumes
Heka (approximately 4,8 L) either 10 Hin, or 320 Ro (1 RO = approximately 1 spoonful).
Measuring instruments: - Henou for the liquids (an earthenware jar) of approximately 0,46 L - Khar for the grain (a leather bag) from approximately 20 heka
