Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers off America
The Science Fiction Writers off America , or SFWA (delivery " siff-wah" however " seff-wah"), is a non-profit organization gathering mainly writers of Science-fiction or Fantasy states-uniens.
The SFWA was founded in 1965 by Damon Knight and James Blish. Its official name has had for summer modified in Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers off America, Inc. , but acronym SFWA is always used.
The statute of member of the SFWA is reserved to the professional authors. To be allowed, a candidate must have sold at least a novel or a script (for at least 2000 USD) or 3 news or stories short (paid each one at least 5 hundreds per word). The SFWA gathers 1 roughly ' 200 members in 2001.
This organization is primarily known because of the Prix Nebula which it allots each year. However, it also decrees the following prices:
