Schwarzbourg (Thuringe)

Schwarzbourg , in German Schwarzburg , is a village of the valley Schwarza, in the district of Saalfeld-Rudolstadt in Thuringe, Germany.

Mentioned for the first time in 1071 under the name of “Swartzinburg”, its castle of the 12th century, maintaining in ruins, sheltered the counts de Schwarzbourg, before they transfer their chief town to Rudolstadt.

The August 11th 1919, the president of Reich Friedrich Ebert, in holiday with Schwarzbourg, signed there the news Constitution of German Reich.
