Schorbach

Schorbach is a common French, located in the department of the the Moselle and the area Lorraine. The Village belongs to the Regional natural park of the Vosges of North and of the basin of life of the Moselle-is.

Geography

The Village is located at the limit of the country covered and discovered and at some Kilomètre S only in the North-West of the Ville of Bitche, in the solid mass of the the Vosges of North. Adopting a unorganized Plan, the Village occupies the Versant S of a small valley very boxed sprinkled by the Schorbach.

History

The Village is mentioned in its current form as of 1210, Schor-Bach , the Ruisseau of the cistudes, the tortoise of the Marais. The Village then forms part of the seigniory of Bitche and is the seat of a town hall including/understanding Lengelsheim, Bitche and Reyersviller.

During the Second world war, the inhabitants are evacuated on September 1st 1939 with Gensac-la-Pallue and Bourg, in Charente. The Village is released the March 16th 1945 by the American . The Village is quoted with the order of the Brigade the November 11th 1948: " Lorraine commune of whose Population evacuated in September 1939 reinstated its Village in ruins only after the Libération. Had not ceased expressing its attachment with the France during the years of exile. Count five of his/her killed children and a casualty. Tested hard by the war, found the three quarters of its entirely destroyed buildings, the others seriously damaged. With supported all its tests with courage and Patriotism. Worship

From the spiritual point of view, Schorbach is a very old Paroisse concerning archpriest of Hornbach since the 12th century. The parish church Saint-Remi is devoted in 1143 by the pontifical Légat Theotwin, cardinal of Holy-Ruffine, as the tympanum sealed in the Mur testifies some is building.
