A Brick-Goélette (still called brig-goëlette or brigantin ) is a sailing with two Mât S with a foremast and a grand' mast (on the back). A brig being generally gréé in the sailing ship with two square headlights, the schooner-brig only has on the grand' mast a very large fore-and-aft sail (Brigantine) and possibly a sail of arrow and veils of stay. With a Bowsprit lengthened enough, it could carry surfaces of very important veils.
Very fast, enough maneuvrants, they were strongly used fine XVIIIe and at the 19th century like ships Négrier S, Corsaire S, forcers of Blocus. Their evolution with the fishing will be the base of the Terre-neuvas and the lengthening of their hull with the mast installation of third will make Clipper S. of them.
