The École of the trades of the environment (EME) is a school of higher education located on the campus of Ker Lann, with Bruz (Ille-et-Vilaine), in the south of Rennes.

It offers various formations in the field of the Environnement.

History

The initiative of the School of the trades of the environment returns to actors of the industrial life convinced of the founded good of the idea of Sustainable development, and decided to engage an effort of vocational higher training in this direction.

Thus, in 1992, the school of the trades of the environment is constituted in the form of association law 1901, independent, with nonlucrative goal, with for vocation the implementation of a coherent whole of higher formations dedicated to the industrial management of the environment.

Since 2007, the diploma for the occupation of engineer profits from the recognition by the Commission of the titles of engineer.

Organization

The school is organized in three poles: a pole undertaken, an administrative pole and a teaching pole

The school is lodged in a building pertaining to the General advice of Ille-et-Vilaine, on a surface of 5.000 m ² including/understanding inter alia, a laboratory chemistry laboratory of biochemistry, laboratory of microbiology and technological hall.

The EME is established on the Campus of Ker Lann in Bruz, the last born of the Campus of the agglomeration of Rennes.

The school has many partners of the industrial environment or institutional (ADEME, the CEMAGREF, etc) or concerning formation of higher education (EHESP, ENSCR, ENSM SE, etc).

Formations

The formations suggested go from the level vat +2 (BTS, professional license) on the level vat +5 (diploma of Engineer) making thus the school accessible on various levels post-vat.

• the BTS Hygiene, Cleanliness and Environment (HPE) makes it possible to acquire in 2 years of the technical skills of level technician and/or supervisor in the professional fields of depollution, namely the Assainissement, the management of the Déchets and the industrial Hygiène. The Diploma of BTS makes it possible either to enter directly the working life, or to engage in complementary studies in second cycle.

• the Scientific Preparatory Cycle (Cypress) makes it possible to acquire the level vat +2, in sciences, necessary to the follow-up of a formation to the trades of the engineer.

• the formation in Diploma of Higher Vocational training (DEPS) makes it possible to acquire in 1 year of the technical skills of level supervisor in the professional fields corresponding to the great problems of sustainable development, namely Sciences and Technology of the Eau (CO.), the Waste Management and Processing (GTD), Management Integrated Quality Safety Environment (MIQSE) or the renewable energies and energy saving (ÉRÉE).

• the Formation with the Trade of Engineer (the IMF) in industrial engineering of the environment prepare the pupils with being employed in the capacity as engineer. The objective of the training in the IMF industrial engineering of the environment is to train professionals ready to work in rich and complex contexts.
