School of Ferrare
The school of Ferrare is one of the Italian schools of painting which were born during the Italian Renaissance.
History
The school of Ferrare is born close to the Maison to Este with Ferrare, which supports arts. A patronage which increases with Hercules I {{er}} of Este in 1470, which the family continues until Alfonso II of Este, died without heir in 1597. The duchy was then occupied by the papal forces and Austrian.
Its style will evolve/move in time by being subject to the influences of the artists of the cities and the close areas: Mantoue, Venice, the Lombardy, Florence and especially Bologna.
