School of Cycling

The School of Cyclisme makes it possible to the young people from 4 to 14 years to learn the sport cyclist from various manners. Each year a series of tests organized in each department puts in competition the various teams and their runners in 3 fields (in general): The Rally, the Sprint (60m) and Cyclo-cross. Each week, the leaders involve the children for the next competition which generally proceeds the weekend.

Tests

  • the rally is in fact a timed slalom. This slalom can include/understand, by chance, of the passages between skittles, a passage under a bar, the catch of a can and rests it of this can… It is necessary as soon as possible to carry out the course while making a minimum of faults, indeed, one adds 5 seconds of penalty for a minor fault and 30 seconds for a " refusal of obstacle" (skirting of a slalom or a play in entirety).

  • the sprint or the speed generally disputes on 60 meters opposite with face. 2 competitors leave at the same time and each one are timed by a different leader. There exists also an electronic device which allows a better precision and to avoid the cheating, the runners then leave one after the other.

  • Lastly, is held the race which can be either a Cyclo-Cross or a Régularité (Race on road with several turns).

The classification is done according to the points. The speed and rally proof, best time marks 1 point, 2nd best time marks 2 etc of them…, with the race, the first marks 1 point, the second: 2, etc… It is on the whole necessary to have less points. The 3 first of each category go up at the end of the day on the podium for the handing-over of the prices, it is generally decreed with the first of each category a cut and to both others a medal, but the rewards can vary (bouquet, can, cap…). But each runner is often also rewarded at the end with delicacies, accessories of bicycle…

The classification by teams is done by cumulating to him the points of the 5 first of each team, there still, the team which has less points is the best.

The competition is one moment of relaxation and of user-friendliness for the young people and their parents, the children take pleasure to clash and to find themselves at the end of the tests.
