Schmerber measures the Imperméabilité of a textile. It corresponds to the standard INTO 20811 (lSO 811). Under the rain, the pressure exerted by water on a Vêtement can reach values going of 13.000 Pa (Pascals) with 20.000 Pa (0,13 to 0,20 bar).

1 Schmerber = 1 mm of water column = 10 Pa = 0.8 mbar

1300 Schmerber = 130 cm of water column = 13.000 Pa = 0,13 bar
