Schloss Ludwigseck
the castle of Ludwigseck is in the municipality of Ludwigsau, in the district Hersfeld-Rotenburg, in Germany.
History
The castle was built at the beginning of the XVe century at the request of the count Ludwig Ier de Hesse, in the aim of protection the villages, their inhabitants and the fields and wood atenants, against the destruction whose they were the object. There was completed in 1419 and remained property of the Riedesel family since 1495
Seriously damaged at the time of the thirty year old war, it was rebuilt in 1677. At the beginning of the 19th century it is the subject of an important restoration having sudden important degradations.
