Schistosoma mansoni is worms parasitic dish, pertaining to the junction of the Plathelminthes (towards not segmented dishes), to the class of the Trématodes (digestive system with cæcum), to the order of the Strigeatida (suction cups ventral and oral),) the family of the Schistosomatidés (cercaires free) and finally with the kind Schistosoma, because the final host is a mammal.
He is responsible for the Bilharziose, in his intestinal form.
This parasite has a cycle with two hosts: the first (intermediate Host) is the fresh water mollusc Biomphalaria glabrata in which it carries out an asexual multiplication (clonale). The second host (final Host) is the Man in which a sexuée Reproduction takes place.
Certain rodents can serve hosts final (mouse, rat, hamster…).
