Schildt nickel silver

Melchior Schildt (* Hanover, towards 1592 - † May 1667) is a Compositeur and German Organiste .

He resulted from a family of musicians of Hanover. He went from 1609 to 1612 to Amsterdam to study near Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, like many other organists of the north of Germany. He exerted of 1623 to 1626 as organist with Wolfenbüttel, then of 1626 to 1629 at the court of the king Christian IV of Denmark to Copenhagen.

As from 1629 and for the remainder of its life, it went back to Hanover as organist to replace his father.
