Schelto van Heemstra

Schelto baron van Heemstra , born with Groningue the November 14th 1807 and died in Maartensdijk the December 20th 1864, is an aristocrat Dutch which occupied of the administrative offices in Frise.

In the years 1840, it was one of the partisans of Thorbecke and was in 1844 one of the Negenmannen (“Last nine men”). After 1848, it became more and more preserving. It was royal Commissaire in the provinces of Utrecht and Zealand.

As a minister, after the resignation of Jacob van Zuylen van Nijevelt in 1861, it directed the cabinet Van Zuylen van Nijevelt/Van Heemstra.

It was of 1862 with 1864 parliamentary conservative with the Lower House.
