Schelin

The Schelin or Piton is a monetary unit which was distributed, of 1848 with 1890, in the form of bearer bonds in the areas of the North of the Low-Canada like that of Charlevoix, of the Saguenay-Lake-Saint-Jean, the Abitibi and the Gaspésie.

The principal transmitters of this currency were the company Price and the companies of colonization.
