Schangala

Schangala , (also Schangalla, der Scheansche (in Palatinat)) - diminutive of Alsatian Jean in , especially in the Haut-Rhin and the Florival. The name is also current in Germany, especially in the Ortenau where the “Schangalla” - literally small Hans - designates a young French.

Schangala is also the alter ego of Jean Egen in the Limes of Lautenbach . Small Schangala is torn between the French culture of his/her father and the Germanic culture (Alsatian and German) of his/her mother.
