Scandinavian compound

The Scandinavian combined is a sport which combines two types of tests: the Ski jump and the Ski touring. It is registered with the Olympic program

Presentation

This sport comes from Norway and dates of more than five millenia. It associates the ski jump, which requires physical force and technical control, with the ski touring, which requires Endurance and resistance. It is probable that this practice was a ritual so that the children become adults.

The test of cross-country skiing into individual made its appearance at the time of the first edition of the Winter Olympics of Chamonix in 1924.

Rules

There exist four Scandinavian compound tests (which proceed all over two days with the OJ, only one in the other competitions). In individual and by team, the ski jump proceeds on a basic springboard of 90 Mr. In sprint , the ski jump proceeds on a large springboard of 120 Mr. Enfin, in individual , the ski touring is run on 15 km, but on 7,5 km in sprint , whereas by team it takes the shape of a relay 4x5 km. We can notice that the test of ski jump is only used to classify the competitors for the ski touring.

Individual

Each athlete carries out two ski jumps on the basic springboard the first day of the test; one notes the jumps on the length and the style. The second day of competition, each athlete aligns himself on the race of ski touring of 15 km. The starting order is given according to the classification of the ski jump. The athlete occupying the first place of this classification springs in first, and the others spring then in the order fixed according to the Tableau of Gundersen.

Sprint

The first day, the competitors carry out only one jump over the large springboard, and the second day in race of ski touring on 7,5 km. The starting order is given as for the individual according to the classification of the ski jump.

By team

Each team includes/understands four athletes who individually carry out two jumps on springboard of 90m the first day. The score of the team corresponds on the whole of the points for the eight jumps. The same athletes align themselves the following day on the relay 4x5 km. As into individual and sprint, one determines starting times in an order fixed according to the table of Gundersen.

Farmhouse-start

The candidates dispute a basic race at the same time while leaving all. At the conclusion of this race, the winner receives a note of 120 points, one then removes with the others 15 points per minute lost after the time of the winner of the basic race, comes then a test from ski jump which will determine the final classification. He is not with the Olympic program.
