Scalde
The scalde is a Scandinavian poet , very often Icelandic, Moyen-âge, primarily of the 9th century at the 13th century.
It composes while being based on the Allitération, the account of the Syllabes and the stressing. Its strophic poetry , with or without Refrain, voluntarily without lyricism, with the formulation stereotyped, rents characters, recapitulates a chalk-lining, exposes personal feelings or describes a beautiful object. It will be used later basic documentary with Snorri Sturluson for the composition of sound Edda then with the writers as sagas.
A scalde is sometimes the main character of a saga. It was the case of Egill Skallagrimsson, Hallfred Scalde difficult or Gunnlaug Language-of-snake.
