Savings bank
The savings banks (or banks of saving or associations of saving and credit according to names in the various countries) were at the origin of the public establishments or mutual limiting to the management of savings accounts and ready simple for the private individuals (in opposition to customers of companies or professionals).
In the majority of the country it is nothing any more but one name historical preserved by these financial institutions which became Banque S with whole share with the activities and very diversified customers, but at statute of Coopérative classifying them in the sector of the Banque mutualist.

One finds savings banks in particular:- in Germany (the Sparkassen )
- in Spain (the Caja de Ahorros , etc)
- in France, the Savings bank Group, ( to see the detailed article ),
- in Italy (the Broke di Risparmio , Cariplo absorptive in Banca Intesa , etc)
- in Romania with the CEC ( Savings bank and the Consignments ) which it is question of privatiser (since 2004)
- with the Canada with the popular Cases Desjardins.
The Grouping European also has an equivalent on a world level: the World Institute of the Savings banks ( World Savings Banks Institute ).
