Savigny-hair-Fol

Savigny Poil Fol is a common French, located in the department of the Nievre and the area Burgundy. Its inhabitants is called Peiffolisaviniens, or saviniens.

Geography

Savigny-hair-Fol belongs to the country of Luzy, in the extreme south of the department of the Nievre, bordering on the Bas-Morvan. The landscape is a Bocage low, strewn with forests of Feuillu S. the economy is primarily agricultural (bovine breeding of Charolaise race, breeding of ponies Connemara).

History

  • with the medieval time, the Fief of Savigny-Hair-Fol is held in 1353 by the Baronnie of Ternant, and its rights apply to the grounds located, today, to the common neighbors of Fléty, the Saint-Seine, Lanty, Nocle-Maulaix, Rémilly and Tazilly.

  • with the modern time, Louis XIV withdraws the territory from the county of Nevers and offers it in wedding gift to Alexandre Dupuy-Montbrun, the rights returning then to the Seigneurie of Noile.
