Saverne
Saverne ( Zabern in German, Zàwere into Alsatian) is a common French, located in the department of the the Low-Rhine and the area Alsace. Its inhabitants is called Savernois.
Geography
Saverne is located in the the Low-Rhine, in the west of this department, close to the limit Alsace/Lorraine. This city is located at approximately 40 kilometers in the North-West of Strasbourg, on the layout of RN 4 and with approximately 15 kilometers of Wasselonne. The Zorn and the Canal of the Marne in the Rhine cross the city.The city occupies a strategic position on the Col of Saverne, one of the natural passages of the Lorraine plate to the plain of Alsace through the the Vosges.

History
For 22 centuries, the large historical and cultural currents have marked the town of their print.

- the church of Récollets (14th century) and its Gothic pink sandstone cloister. A Dubois organ was built there in 1763.
- the parish church Notre-Dame of the Nativity , with the splendid stained glasses, and its powerful turn-porch of Romance style testify to the episcopal history of the city.

1913: Incidental of Saverne
Saverne was released by the 2 {{E}} armor-plated division of the general Leclerc on November 22nd, 1944, before is released the plain of Alsace and Strasbourg.

Transport
Saverne is located on the line from Paris in Strasbourg, at the exit of the valley of Zorn, is built in the years 1850. The station of Saverne is today a station FOR THE THIRD TIME important for the pendular motions with Strasbourg. With the inauguration of TGV Is in November 2007, Saverne profits from two daily stops towards Paris. The station and its dependences are currently in reorganization to make it possible to ensure the growth of the traffic.
