Sava Grujić

Sava Grujić , into Serb Cyrillic СаваГрујић (born with Kolari, close to Smederevo, the December 7th 1840 - died with Belgrade the December 8th 1913), was a Général, a Politician and a Serb Diplomate . It was five times Prime Minister of Serbia.

Of 1856 with 1861, it attends the Military academy of Serbia. It will continue then its military studies in Prussia (1861-1863) and in Russia (1864-1870). In 1876, it is named Colonel.

November 4th 1876 at October 1st 1878, he is Ministre for the War. In this function, it is one of the principal craftsmen of the wars which oppose the Serbia to the Ottoman Empire. Following these wars, Serbia, with the assistance of Russia, obtains its total independence with respect to the Sublime Door with the Traité of Berlin (1878).

Then Sava Grujić carries out diplomatic missions. Starting from 1879, it is sent in Bulgaria; then with Athens (1882) and with Saint-Pétersbourg (1885).

In 1887, Sava Grujić is named Général. From June 1887 in December 1887, it is again Minstre of the Armies; and starting from January 1st 1888 he is at the same time Prime Minister and Minister for the Armies. He will preserve these functions until the April 27th 1888.

Thus, Sava Grujić will be alternatively minister and diplomat.

March 7th 1889 with the February 23rd 1891, he is again Prime Minister and Minister for the Armies. During nearly one year, of March 1890 at February 1891, it will exert also the functions of Foreign Minister.

Of 1891 with 1893, he is the representative of Serbia with Istambul.

From June to December 1893, it is again Minstre of the Armies; then December 5th 1893 with the January 24th 1894, it again cumulates the functions of Prime Minister, Ministre for the armies and Foreign Minister.

Of 1897 with 1899, he is ambassador with Saint-Pétersbourg, then, of 1900 with 1903, with Istambul.

October 4th 1903 with the December 10th 1904, he is Prime Minister for the fourth time; it will be to it still fifth once in 1906.
