Sauze is a Winter sports resort, located in the Vallée of Ubaye, in the solid mass of the the Alps.

Geography

Sauze is a ski station of Alp-of-High-Provence, in the Vallée of Ubaye. The station-village is to 4 km of Barcelonnette. It is divided into two: Sauze itself and Super higher Sauze. The whole of the station and the tracks spread out between 1380 and 2380 meters. One finds there 23 ski lifts and 65 km of tracks.
  • the principal track being that of the " Brec" entirely altered in 2007 in order to accommodate a stage of slalom, it is on the face of snow of super-sauze. It with in particular considering evolving/moving Carole Merle which will become the best French skier of the history.

History

The station was founded in 1934 by Honore Couttolenc (1907-1995).
    • This small station knew converver its character family thanks to a private exploitation; it is one of the last stations besides private Frenchwoman. She evolves/moves unfortunately less quickly than her competitors. One nevertheless notes the creation of a snowpark on the field of " Large quartier" , also appearance of a big air on " the savonnette" giving place to night demonstrations of jump freestyle.

    • Each winter the station organizes a competition national of ski new school

" Kings of the glisse" it is the occasion to see best the French freestylers.
    • the summer the station lives around some animations such as the toboggan of summer, the trampoline and the vtt. The station also has the covered swimming pool.

    • the station also accommodates each summer of the competitions of ski on grass on the track of Bologna.
