Sauvian

Sauvian is a common French, located in the department of the Herault and the area Languedoc-Roussillon.

Geography

Sauvian is a village located in the west of the department of Herault, in the plain Viticole of the Biterrois, with 7 kilometers in the south of Béziers.

The territory of the commune is crossed by a river, the Orb, near here to sound mouth in the sea the Mediterranean. The soil is primarily occupied by the Vigne, with some wine fields on the slopes: Thou , Espagnac , Domergue . Zones of activities were arranged recently, creating jobs (especially in the Tertiary sector) in the commune.

Like its close neighbors, the commune of Sauvian undergoes the effects of displacements of population between Béziers and the Biterrois. New inhabitants come to settle in Sauvian, in allotments, but continue to work mainly in Béziers.
