Sauvessanges

Sauvessanges is a common French, located in the department of the Puy-de-Dôme and the area Auvergne.

Geography

Located in the south-eastern point of the Department of the Puy-de-Dôme, in extreme cases of three departments (the Loire, Haute-Loire and Puy-de-Dôme) and of two areas (Auvergne and the Rhone-Alps) the commune fits in the Livradois-Drill. This area forms a small geographical unit good characterized, in the center of this large granitic dorsal which separates the basins from the Dore and the the Loire, and which one rather improperly calls the Monts of Drill, in a long directed depression North-South, and traversed by the Ance from one end to another. In fact, it is not a true valley, because it is not the Ance which dug it: the river did nothing but settle in this long gutter due to enormous fractures of the granitic mass, the length whose volcanic phenomena could appear discreetly, like basalt sproutings of Wheat-producing (Usson) and Montpeloux (Projecting).
