Sauroposéidon

Dinosaur of the family of the titanosauridés or brachiosauridés, the sauroposéidon was discovered in 1994 by the team of Richard Cifelli but publicly announced in 1999. Its name means god lizard of the seisms (Poséidon is also the ebranlor of the ground ).

One of the largest dinosaurs never discovered (approximately 30% larger than the Brachiosaure), the sauroposéidon was to weigh in the 60 tons and to measure up to 18 meters in height.

With such dimensions, one thinks that his neck was too long to be able to be put at the vertical, the heart which cannot pump so high blood. It would thus have been used to him to eat the lower plants.
