History
Name in XIe century: Somanna (it was a castrum surrounded by strong walls). Seigniory of the Sade until the French Revolution.

- Imposing castle (IMH) with the pace of bastionnée fortress crowning the village: base of XIIe century, rebuilt in XIVe century, additions and restorations until the XVIIe century, vandalized and restored; 2 grosses towers bored of loopholes frame the entry, southern main door with moucharabieh and ogival consoles, keep which made office formerly mill with oil and of furnace; loopholes with guns bored in mobile cylinders articulated in the walls; casemate, ditch cut in the rock, machicolation, tunnels with oubliettes, arched rooms, with boxes, staircases Rebirth and trompe-l'oeil paintings; park from where one has a superb panorama on the valley of Calavon and the mountain of Luberon. This beautiful castle belonged to the uncle (abbot of Sade and historiographer of Pétrarque) of the Marquis of Sade, itself remained there between its 5 years and its 10 years. - Saint-Trophime Romance Church of XIIe century, altered at various times (its Romance wall-belfry shelters a bell going back to 1400). - Valescure (in the east): swallow-hole, cave, firm - Country Museum in Crémade (3,5 km in north)
