Saulieu
Saulieu is a common French, located in the department of the Coast-with Or and the area Burgundy. Capital of the Morvan, commune of the Regional natural park of Morvan, located at the south-east of Paris on the road RN6. Its inhabitants are called the sedelocians .
History
This borough morvandiau existed as of the Gallo-Roman time, under the name of Sidolocus (or Sedelocus ), as attest of them engraved steles and tombs found on the hills which dominate the current commune.
Heraldic
Blasonnement of the traditional weapons of the town of Saulieu:
“ Of mouths to the money sword furnished with gold, accompanied by three flowers of lily by same, one as a chief, with detre and with sinistral. ”
Malta-Brown, in illustrated France (1882) as for him proposes:
“Of mouths, with a sword of money posed out of stake, the guard of gold,” and for currency: “HIS ARMIS. HÆ ARMED UENTUR. ”
(thus without flowers of lily.)
