Sauliac-on-That

History

The village is fixed on the rock bored of Grotte S strengthened which was used as refuge during the wars. One climbed there by scales, the patients and the animals were hoisted using cords in large baskets.

3.600 m2 of field, 15.000 objects, a castle, reconstitution of farms (one on the model of the habitats of the Old mode, and the other corresponding at the end of the 19th century), spaces of exposures (agricultural mechanization) and of the workshops. The site is managed by the General advice of the Batch since 2005.

In the vicinity, the Vault Notre-Dame of the Rock-Traoucat (the perforated rock), of 1850, partly troglodytic, is a place of annual Pèlerinage.
Since the way one skirts the ruins of a Château, from there, one can see on opposite bank the Château of Geniuses of the 16th century, drawing up on a kind of isthmus its home to Mansard and its turn round.
