History
Paul Raymond note which the commune was a baronnie concerning the Vicomté of Drunk.One called messagerie" of Arbailles the central part of the Drunk , between Basabürü and Pettarra (area of Sauguis, Aussurucq and Barcus).
Sauguis and Saint-Etienne met on June 27th, 1843.
