the realization of film was first of all entrusted to the chief decorator John Barry, who had already worked on science fiction films such as the Star Wars (1977) or Superman (1978), and of which it was to be the first realization, but following artistic divergences with the production, it was quickly évincé with the profit of Stanley Donen.
the scenario writer not having liked the accent so characteristic of Brooklyn which Harvey Keitel had, it made double this last by the British actor Roy Dotrice, which employed a neutral accent.
the person in charge of the special effects Colin Chilvers created the Hector robot according to a sketch of Léonard de Vinci.

Nomination at the price of worst film, worse actor for Kirk Douglas and worse actress for Farrah Fawcett, at the time of the Razzie Awards in 1981.
