Satoshi Tajiri

Satoshi Tajiri (ja 田尻智, born on August 28th 1965) is the creator of the Pokémon. It passed its childhood in suburbs of Tokyo where it liked to collect the Insecte S, and drove out them everywhere, at the edge of the ponds, in the fields or in forest. He sought the new ones all the time and imagined even novel methods to attract the Scarabé S. He was attracted so much by the insects, that his/her buddies called it “Dr. Bug. ”

Satoshi did not like the school. His/her father wanted that he becomes electrician, but itself did not wish it. Later, in the years 1970, the fields and the ponds that Satoshi had liked so much were transformed into apartments and carparks. It is at that time that the idea of the Pokémon germinated. Satoshi wanted to make it possible to the new generation of children to drive out creatures, as it had done small.

Entered in technical training school, Satoshi was plunged in the video games. It was such a fan that one of the rooms of arcade where it spent all his time gave him a machine Space Invaders to be brought back at his place.

In 1982, Satoshi created with friends the magazine of plays Game Freak. One of his/her friends was Ken Sugimori, which drew all the images of Pokémon. In 1991, Satoshi discovers the Game Boy. When he saw for the first time “Link Cables” (cables of connection), he imagined at once insects which crawled length. The Pokémon had been born. The play was based at the beginning on some of the ideas of “Creatures”, another conceiving studio of the video games. Satoshi selected its firm “Freak Range”, like the magazine, which thus continues to be regarded as the beginning of the plays Pokémon .

Satoshi left to work for Nintendo and spent the six following years to conceive the Pokémon . It became friendly with Shigeru Miyamoto, the creative genius of Mario Bros , The Legend off Zelda , Pikmin , and Donkey Kong . In homage to Miyamoto and Tajiri, Sacha Ketchum (or “Red” in the red version and “Blue” in the blue version of the series on Game Boy) is called Satoshi and Régis Chen (or “Blue” in the red version and “Red” in the blue version) is called Shigeru in the Japanese versions of Pokémon .
