The satisfaction is the name given to the state of heart and/or the body which accompanies the satisfaction by a Désir : one distinguishes it from simple the satisfaction which marks only the completion of a Besoin.
In this direction satisfaction constitutes a simple Sentiment more than one Sensation of appeasing; she is opposed to the state Frustration, sometimes more or less coloured hope, lived when the Psyché is in a state of desire or need. Satisfaction is thus dissipation of displeasure, of psychological sorrow. (The tension of the desire or the need is accompanied by a psychological state of displeasure).
Satisfaction is distinguished from the Plaisir in what the latter marks only a pleasant Sensation: physical impression (sexual intercourse…), cultural impression (pleasure of seeing something of beautiful, of seeing a convincing theory…), social impression (pleasure of human heat, the love…), psychological impression (pleasure of feeling full with power…), spiritual impression (pleasure of considering something which exceeds us…)…
Waiting of pleasure (of the impression joke) creates a desire, more or less petitioning, therefore a dissatisfaction as long as the desired pleasure is not obtained, and a satisfaction, in addition to the pleasure, when the discounted pleasure is obtained. The poet Léo Ferré will summarize the first of these states of an expression: " this evil which makes you bien" .
