Geography
The area is bordered in the west by the low and sandy coast of the Gulf of Bothnia, with some of the longest beaches of Finland (Yyteri in particular). The area is overall punt and agricultural, with a prevalence of the boroughs and small towns but not of big city. The only reliefs are consisted rare isolated hills (maximum 150 m). The area is crossed by the river Kokemäenjoki. In north, it relatively low Moraine of the Suomenselkä separates Satakunta from the Ostrobotnie and the Ostrobotnie of the South. In the east appear the first Esker S which announce the Pirkanmaa, and in the south the area of Finland of South-west. It should be noted that the coast does not cease moving back under the effect of the Isostasie, pushing back the sea with nearly 15 kilometers of the old port cities, Pori is the best example. It is the area of Finland for which the effect of isostasy is strongest after the Ostrobotnie.
One finds in the area only one national park, Puurijärvi-Isosuo.
