Sassenage

Sassenage is a common French, located in the department of the Isere and the area the Rhone-Alps. The commune which is located locates at the North-West of Grenoble belongs to the Communauté of agglomeration Grenoble the Alps Métropole. Its inhabitants is called the Sassenageois .

Geography

The commune is located at 6 km in the North-West of Grenoble, on left bank of the Isere, with the confluence of Isere and Drac, in edge of the solid mass of the Vercors. Sassenage has a small borough, stuck to the solid mass of Vercors and crossed by a small river, Furon. This borough is characterized by its streets narrow and fresh, its old houses which give him any sound charms. Moreover, the famous theater in round established in the middle of the village which had been destroyed by the flames, is reappearing of its ashes. History

In the Middle Ages, the lords of Sassenage took the taxes on the part extended their strongholds of the valley of Drac and Isere to the first buttresses of Vercors.

  • Tanks of Sassenage

It is possible to visit these caves, one kilometer during, starting from the town of Sassenage.
