The sassarese (sometimes francized sassarais some or sassarien) is a Langue of dubious origin spoken in a part limited, but very populated, north-Western Sardinia. It belongs with the gallurese ( gallurais, gallurien ) to the group of the languages corso- Sarde S. It is recognized like individual language with code sdc .
He, to date, is spoken with Sassari, Oporto Torres, Sorso and Stintino; with Castelsardo, Tergu and Sedini in its variety castellanese .
History
One can see his origins at the beginning of the introduction of the République of Sassari (
1200). The common Sarde spoken in the
Turritano starts to be replaced for mercantile reasons, so that it is included/understood Corsicans, Sardinians, of Génois, Pisans and Spaniards. In
1316 the official documents are compiled in
Latin and Sardinian logoudorien (the Langue S " officielles"
island), but already then the
urban Population spoke mainly a Dialecte of the Tuscan type, strongly influenced pisan, génois and Corsica
.
Characteristics
The language sassaraise is born from the meeting of this
Diasystème with the Sardinian logoudorien. The language sassarais makes " tampon" between the group linguistic Gallurais/Corsica, more homogeneous, but less " sarde". It is extremely difficult to assign sassarais it with one of the two linguistic groups. It could become, but not without difficulty, a dialect of the language Sarde, which could set up a new linguistic group, similar to the Toscan, composed of sassarais, of gallurais and Corsican.
