Sartowice
Sartowice (in German Sartowitz ) is a village Polish located in the voïvodie of Cujavie-Poméranie (powiat of Świecie, gmina of Świecie). The village counts 400 inhabitants.
Of 1975 with 1998, Sartowice was in the Voïvodie of Bydgoszcz.
Geographical location
The geographical Coordonnées of Sartowice are 53° 26 ' NR 18° 34 ' E. the village is on the the Vistula, to 8 km of Świecie.
History
With the the Middle Ages, Sartowice was a Fortified town Poméranie which was not lost by Świętopełk II the 4 December 1242 at the time of the war against the Teutoniques.
In 1936, it is ground of the fort of Świętopełk II which is brought to Cracow to build the Tertre in the honor of Józef Piłsudski.
To see
The palate and its park - the palate was built in 1770 by Ernest Sartovius de Schwanefeld, in a traditional style . The gardens of the palate are famous for the richness of their Flore. The park shelters the Chapelle Sainte Barbara, equipped with two bells (1651 and 1707). One can admire old religious objects there. According to the legend, a Relic, the head of holy Barbara, would have been carried by the Teutoniques when those seized the village in December 1242.
