Sarekat Islam
Le' Sarekat Islam' is an organization founded in 1911 pennies the initial name of Sarekat Dagang Islam (" association of the merchants musulmans" by tradesmen in Batik of Surakarta to Java, in what was then the the Indies Dutchwomen.
The goal of Sarekat Dagang Islam was to give more capacity to the Javanese tradesmen vis-a-vis the power of the wholesalers Chinese.
The organization changes soon its name into Sarekat Islam in 1912. Its most known leader is Hadji Oemar Said Tjokroaminoto, more known like H.O.S. Cokroaminoto. This one had three disciples who will become later famous in their turn: Soekarno, one of the great figures of nationalism indonésien, Semaun, future directing Communist party indonésien and Kartosuwiryo, which will start in 1948 a separatist movement fighting for the creation of a State indonésien Moslem founded on the Sharia, Darul Islam.
