Sappho

Nicolas Siret is a Clavecin ist and organist French, born and died in Troyes (1663 - 1754).

Friend and admiror of François Couperin, Nicolas Siret was organist of the cathedral and the church Jean saint to Troyes like sound-father and his grandfather.

He left two books of continuations of dances for the Clavecin, published, the first towards 1709 and the second in 1719. Only one part of organ remains.

In the first book, the initial parts are opening S in the tradition of Lully, originality in France for the continuations of harpsichord but already practiced by Charles Dieupart, for example). In the second book, it is undoubtedly one of the last to write a Prélude not measured. It introduces into its continuations some parts of kind which point out its model, François Couperin.
