The Saoura an area of the western south Algerian. Its name comes from the valley of Saoura which is the union of Wadi Guir and Oued Zouzfana. Saoura constitutes the western limit of the Great Western Erg.

In Saoura are several ksour, of which Igli, Beni Abbots, El Ouata, Beni khlaf, Kerzaz, Ouled Khodeir and Ksabi.

These last years, Saoura is touched by a dryness which destroyed many palm plantations.
