Sant\' Antioco
Sant' Antioco is a common of the Province of Carbonia-Iglesias in Sardinia in Italy.
Origin of the name
During the first centuries after Jesus-Christ, the Christian religion was supported by Sant' Antioco which came from Mauritania. From where the name of the island and the commune. One of the first Christian churches of the Mediterranean exists, restored still today, playing the part of “minor basilica” with the catacombs of Sant' Antioco.
Geography
Sant' Antioco is located on the island of Sant' Antioco, close to the road bridge which connects this island to the Sardinia.

The climate is of subtropical type.

Between on May 15th and on June 15th, in the passing of tunas in the channel connecting Sant' Antioco to San Pietro, the " takes place; mattanza" , i.e. fishing with blue fin tuna (Thunnus thynnus).
