Sankt Goar
Sankt Goar is a city on left bank of the the average Rhine in the Land of the Rhineland-Palatinat in Germany opposite the town of Sankt Goarshausen and near to the famous rock to the Lorelei.
Above the city is the ruin of the fortress Rheinfels, built in 1245 by Dieter V von Katzenelnbogen.
Saint Goar owes his origin with the hermit of this name which évangélisa the area at the VI century and which was originating in the antique Aquitaine.
In 2002, UNESCO registered the 65 km of the valley of average Haut-Rhin on the Liste of the world heritage. St Goar is in the center of this landscape.
