Sandra Kim

Sandra Kim , of her true name Sandra Caldarone , is a Belgian singer born the October 15th 1972 with Montegnée (entity of Saint Nicolas's Day close to Liege).

Biography

It is the elder one of the two girls of Giuseppe Caldarone and Anna Capobianco. His/her sister carries the first name of Barbara in homage to Barbra Streisand.

Italian of birth, resulting from the third generation of Italian immigration, it takes Belgian nationality at 18 years, according to the legal possibilities. Its family is originating in the Province of Chieti, in the the Abruzzi, in central Italy.

Still Italian, it is selected to represent Belgium with the Concours Eurovision of the song in Bergen, Norway, on May 3rd, 1986, and it is with 13 years and half that it carries it with I like the life . The age limit having been fixed later at 15 years, it will remain youngest gaining contest and one of the two last French-speaking people with Céline Dion. The song will become the credits of the series It was once… the Life.

Its career since never really took off in spite of several attempts, I like the life remaining its only hit. She entrusted later to the journalists whom she felt a posteriori choked by the success of this song. To beginning of the year 90, it Co-presented " Ten that one aime" with Alain Simons on RTL-TVI, then it formed part during two seasons of the jury of the emission " For the gloire" on the RTBF. In 1990 Sandra Kim was likely to sing in front of King Baudouin I^er at the time of the festivals for her 60^ième birthday and the 40^ième birthday of her reign. She sang with the Flemish singer Luc Steeno the song I like my pays/Ik hou van mijn Land . She moved in Flanders where she continues to sing within the framework of collective spectacles (Currently Souldivaz ).

In Wallonia and to Brussels, it is regularly invited in television programs because it has much outspokenness and it remains, to date, only gaining Belgian Eurovision Contest of the Song. It has right also to many mockeries.

Married first once with Olivier Gerard in 1994 and divorced one year and half after, it was remarié with Jurgen Delanghe on December 24th 2001.
