Mari Sandoz is a American author (1901 - March 10th 1966) several works on the beginnings of the American West like Old Jules (1935, Atlantic Monthly Award), Cheyenne Fall (1953), The Cattlemen (1958) and several others; its last novel, Battle off the Little Bighors , was published in 1966.
