Sanctuary (group)

Sanctuary was a group of heavy founded metal with Seattle in 1985.

History

Before playing in Sanctuary, Warrel Dane was the singer of the group of heavy metal Serpent' S knight, which left an album in 1983. Jim Sheppard played in a group of Glam metal called Sleeze, with the singer Layne Staley (who sang later with Alice in Chains), in the neighborhoods of 1985.

They left a demonstration in 1986, and its good reception carried out them to sign a contract with Epic Records in 1987. They left their first album, Refuge Denied , in the same year. This album was produced by Dave Mustaine, leader of the group of Thrash metal Megadeth. Sanctuary left in round with Megadeth and the German group Warlock.

After this round, they turned over to the studio to record their second (and the last) album studio, Into The Mirror Black , in 1990. A Clip for the song Future Tense was made and was exploited the emission of MTV Headbanger' S Ball. During the round (with the groups Forbidden and Death Angel), the guitarist Sean Blosl left the group and was replaced by Jeff Loomis.

A little later a pressure on behalf of Epic Records so that the group conforms to the scene Grunge, popular in Seattle, caused arguments between the members of the group concerning the musical direction of the group. Therefore, in 1991, Sanctuary dissolve.

Epic Records succeeded in leaving an album live a recording during their last round. This recording is called Into The Mirror Live .

After dissolution

  • After having dissolves the group, Warrel Dane, Jim Sheppard, and Jeff Loomis formed the group Nevermore in 1992.
  • Dave Budbill lives in Florida, and is currently the beater of a group called Zero Creep.
  • Sean Blosl creates music and wire independently with Golden Flower Films and Music.
  • Lenny Rutledge became a musical producer, and it has its own studio. Moreover, it helped Nevermore for their demonstrations of their album Dreaming Neon Black .
