The San Gabriel Mountains are located at the north of Los Angeles, in California of the south, with the the United States. This transverse chain forms a barrier between the area of the Grand Los Angeles and the Désert of Mojaves. This coastal chain extends, and is surrounded, by the Angeles National Forest, with the Faille of San Andreas like northern border. Its highest top is the Mont San Antonio, or MT. Baldy . The Mont Wilson is another top, famous to shelter the Observatoire of the mount Wilson.
In Winter, the Snowboard and the Ski are popular in these mountains with Mountain High and the mount Baldy. There exist also two other stations, Mount Waterman and Kratka Ridge, but they are seldom open. In summer, they are the excursion, the camp-site and the picnic which practice most of the visitors.
